The client is a super-social person who enjoys bringing friends and family together. The backyard had to present those opportunities for gathering with lush, tropical abundance. Our soft green underfoot cover, is Zoysia “bumpy” grass on low, slow drips. Our cut-out planters use deep shade to minimize evaporation. Lots of clever plant selections emulate tropical vignettes while running on a drought considerate budget, which will in time provide the lushness our discerning client envisioned. We fabricated a steel and IPE enclosure to securely contain the property while following the mid-century direction of this heritage residence, softening up the area with a potted tropical garden.
