The owners of this newly remodeled house were anxious to bring in sympathetic and organic planting throughout the landscape. The owners of this newly remodeled house were anxious to bring in sympathetic and organic planting throughout the landscape to off-set their decision to use a high grade artificial grass round their pool. We brought in more fluid elements of nature with breezy acacia, olive, muhly grasses, and scratchy graphic verbenas.  We designed some stacked brick planters to tie in with the wall out front and filled them accordingly.

The front garden forced us to reckon within the span of a giant sycamore that we’re loathe to cut down, and so we built a gentle transition from the street to the front door using a series of concrete platforms meandering upward, interplanted with Korean grasses, carex, and boxwoods. We punctuated the negative spaces from hedge to wall with a variety of native species to break up the structural formality of the boxwoods with a mature olive tree to sit under the gentle bubble of a water fountain.
