This client had strong creative vision to reinvent their challenging rock-bound backyard, giving us a directive for careful focus on materials and aesthetics which could be described as Puglia via Provence. As we were working directly into the rock, we understood that our green palette would be limited and somewhat restricted to planters set into soft pea gravel ground,  with one beautiful in-ground accent tree. The pool edge was raised and uniformly covered in a soft stucco style finish, repeated throughout the built-in seating, fire pit and grill. Upper terrace was paved with tumbled travertine from EcoOutdoors and finished with subtle lighting throughout.
